The world's first street-legal car with F1 engine, The latest Mercedes Benz Hypercar -based F 1 engine, finally appeared at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2017. This model will only be produced in limited numbers. Called as Mercedes-AMG Project One, this model is quite stealing the attention on the floor of the Frankfurt exhibition. Here are some facts about Mercedes Benz AMG Project One hypercar.
Hybrid Engine
Mercedes-AMG Project One adopts a hybrid engine, which is powered by a turbocharged internal combustion engine, plus four electric motors. The engine comes with a lithium-ion battery pack.
Each motor in the front produces power 160 Hp (120kW). and combined with an electric motor in the engine and mounted on a turbo that each has a power 120 Hp (90 kW).
Mercedes Benz claims, about 80 percent of braking energy can be re-supplied to charge the battery. This model is also capable of traveling a distance of 15.5 miles with a single charging
1000 Horse power
Hypercar performance specification two-seat all-wheel-drive is very astounding. F1 V6 engine 1,6 liter, with turbocharged, which works with four electric motors, generates over 1,000 hp, through an 8-speed manual automatic transmission.
The top speed is 217 mph (350 kph), where Mercy says Project One can reach 124 mph (200 kph) in less than 6 seconds. The electric motor in the front axle can rotate at 50,000 rpm.
Power is channeled to the rear wheels through an 8-speed manual automated transmission. This transmission was developed specifically for Project One. The gearbox is hydraulically activated, offers manual and automatic driving, plus a paddle shift.
This car is built from a high-strength carbon monoxide body. The interior gets a pair of 10-inch screens. Unique steering wheel, many buttons, can control various functions such as driving mode, suspension, display, and airbags.
Mercedes team driver Lewis Hamilton really helped develop the F1 Project One hybrid powertrain, but he does not work directly, he was very happy with this project. Mercedes claim this the F1 car for the streets.
Expensive and Very Limited
Mercy hypercar production is limited to only 275 units, and the selling price is in the range of 2.7 million US dollars. It seems that the number is not so startling because this car is recognized to have a fairly distinctive, rare and exclusive value, reportedly all units that will be produced are sold out.
