Reporting from Honda's official website on Friday (03/25/2016), the tool is a joint project between Honda with Hitachi. The goal is to prevent or stop a drunk driver while driving.
The alcohol detectors can be brought everywhere and shaped like a portable or mobile. In addition, Honda and Hitachi-made detectors also include sensors that can detect and measure the levels of alcohol users. Within three seconds, the levels of alcohol can already be detected.
Results on the portable detectors will be recorded and entered into the system of car engine. If the detected levels of alcohol exceeds the limit, then the indicator will give a warning on the display panel of the car. This detector tool will be presented at the SAE World Congress, which took place from 12 to 14 April 1999 in Detroit, United States.
Alcohol detector tool has been widely used in some countries. Like in Japan, to see the driver's alcohol levels conducted by transport operators by using alcohol detector. The tool is used for professional drivers before they do the job.
United States (NHTSA) also do the same. They have launched interlock technology to connect the detector alcohol in the vehicle's engine
