Catalunya - the new sensation in the world of Formula 1 was born in Catalunya. Dutch teen racer, Max Verstappen, emerged as the champion of the Spanish GP and carve an amazing record.
That record is the youngest driver ever to win an F1 race. Currently Verstappen age is 18 years. He broke the previous record on behalf of Sebastian Vettel.
Amazingly, Verstappen grabbed victory in Spain on Sunday (15/05/2016), in his first race with the team Red Bull. In four previous series this season he is still defending team Toro Rosso - and swap places with Daniil Kvyat.
Verstappen managed to touch the finish line at first though pursued by Kimi Raikkonen who eventually had to settle for the runners-up. Kimi's Teammates at Ferrari, Sebastian Vettel, was ranked third.
Another drama happened at the beginning of the race when Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg Mercedes collided so that both riders were immediately out.
Rosberg performed brilliantly at the start and managed to stay ahead from the holder of pole position, Hamilton, at the first corner.
After the second corner, Hamilton tried to overtake Rosberg on the right side. Rosberg a slight shift to the right as well as entering the third corner.
Looks like Hamilton too aggressive, so he slammed the steering wheel into the grass track. As a result, the car spun, rolled and then hit Rosberg in front of him. Both cars were damaged stalled in the gravel, and certainly failed to continue the race.
