In a press release, Toyota Financial Services Corporation will create a financing scheme to make car buyers can rent a car through Uber and pay installments of their acceptance as a driver.
It is intended to develop a system of ride sharing. "Ridesharing has a great potential in shaping the future of mobility. Through collaboration with Uber, we can explore new ways to provide mobility that is safe, convenient and attractive for consumers," said Senior Managing Officer of Toyota Motor Corporation Shigeki Tomoyama.
Uber also welcomed their collaboration with Toyota. "Toyota is the most popular car in the Uber platforms around the world. We look forward to further collaboration began with the expansion of our vehicle financing," said Chief Business Officer Uber Emil Michael.
Looking ahead, Toyota and Uber will collaborate to create an application that supports the rider Uber car. Toyota also set up a special scheme of fleet sales of Toyota and Lexus in Uber.
Toyota reportedly invest for this collaboration with Uber, but Toyota did not mention how much investment they are prepared.
