US electric car manufacturer, Tesla Motors will finally introduce the latest electric SUV Model X. However, we can be sure the electric SUV will be officially on sale in 2016
Launch announcement was revealed by Tesla CEO Elon Musk in his Twitter account.
For the record, before Tesla Model X is often said to be a competitor of the Porsche Cayenne. Even before the Model X is expected to go on sale this year, but it will be sold in 2016.
And Elon Musk also ensure this latest SUV, will be the fastest SUV ever introduced.
For the Model X AWD 90D, the ratings are 90 MPGe city, 94 highway, 92 combined, with a range of 257 miles. For the more powerful AWD P90D, the ratings are 89/90/89 MPGe. MPGe is an electric vehicle "fuel economy" rating based on the assumption that 33.7 kWh of electricity is equivalent to one gallon of gasoline.
By comparison, the Model S carries ratings of 95/106/100 for the 90D model and 89/98/93 for the P90D, with 270 and 253 miles of range, respectively.
The EPA's figures may tell us more than how efficient the Model X will be. By listing just the 90D and P90D, that seems to indicate the Model X will launch only with Telsa's 90 kWh battery and only with all-wheel drive. The Model S also offers the 70D with a 70 kWh battery and the 85D and P85D with an 85kWh battery.
Some of the available equipment on the all-electric Model X includes a hitch, power-folding and heated mirrors, an eight-year, infinite mile battery and drive unit warranty, automatic keyless entry, parking sensors, blind spot warning, automatic emergency braking and an automatically retracting rear spoiler. Every Model X will be fit with falcon wing doors, which open vertically, allowing easier ingress and egress to the rear seats.
So far, Tesla has only announced the details on the Model X Signature Series, which starts at a price of $133,200 and comes with the 90-kWh battery which provides a total of 503 hp. All-wheel drive is expected to be standard on all Model X crossovers.
