VW's ambition to participate in F1 is getting closer with buy Red Bull team
Volkswagen (VW) is closer than the purchase process Red Bull Formula 1 team. It was revealed on the BBC F1 analyst Eddie Jordan recently. That means, if the MOU is approved and signed, VW will stand alone as a complete team with the engine. While Red Bull remain a partner as the main sponsor.

Jordan also reveals that VW engine will not be introduced prior to F1 until 2018. But for a while Red Bull will move the engine from Renault to Ferrari if cooperation with VW yet to find an agreement.
"Red Bull and VW already talked about this over a year, and I understand that the fundamentals of this agreement that sell the team as a whole has been agreed upon," says Jordan, quoted by the BBC, recently.
VW will be the fourth car manufacturers are independently as a team in F1 (after Mercedes-Benz, Ferrari, and Lotus). While Red Bull will continue to enjoy the profile clearly displayed on the team as the main sponsor.
Not clear what the brand of the VW group to be lifted in F1, although many observers pursed into a brand that is Audi. But VW also still likely to lift other brands such as Porsche, Lamborghini, Bugatti, Bentley, Seat even Skoda.
