California - A group of owners of electric cars Tesla S model P85D questioned the accuracy of the information about power generated by the electric motor car is considered not match with the data published by the manufacturer. Tesla officials spoke.
71 owners of the Tesla model S have made open letter via email. "We write to you as a group of Tesla owners, investors, and perhaps most importantly, support," they said.
According to them, the previously-mentioned car was powered 691 horsepower. Only after testing by using a dynamometer, the battery is fully charged condition only produces maximum power of 557 horsepower. The group even goes to say “the missing horsepower is quite noticeable at highway passing speeds” where “the P85D is easily outperformed by an Audi RS7.”
In fact, they say power is lost quite visible when full speed when the car through the streets. In response, the Head of Technical Tesla, JB Straubel, commented through a company blog that "there was some confusion about the methodology to rank the 'equivalent' horsepower for our all-wheel drive, dual motor vehicles," he said.
"The rear axle is approximately 360-470 [horsepower] depending on the variant (60, 85 or P85)," he said. "When we launched the P85D all-wheel drive, we take a direct approach and consistently determine the combined capabilities of the two electric motors, front and rear," said Straubel.
But after that, the number of power generated about the Model S has been removed from the official company website.
