Aston Martin finally come into play on the electric car. In an event attended by the member of British Royal Prince William's and Kate Middleton-President of China, Xi Jinping, Aston Martin showed off RapidE electric car concept.
Electric car Rapide S four door aka RapidE. RapidE is a collaboration between Aston Martin with Williams Advanced Engineering. Cars built in Grove, Oxfordshire.
"We see the electric car is an intrinsic part of our future, and we welcome ChinaEquity in the next stage of development," said Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer.
ChinaEquity an investment group from China that will seek ways to develop mass-production version of the RapideE.
If successful, a luxury electric car will be constructed at Aston Martin's headquarters in Gaydon, Warwickshire, and began to be marketed in 2 years.
"The exciting RapidE concept tangibly demonstrates the capability and ambition of Aston Martin towards developing low- and zero-emission sports cars."
On the signing of this agreement, Chairman Chaoyong Wang of ChinaEquity said, "We are delighted that Aston Martin not only provides a high performance driving experience to customers, but also show's their social responsibility by showcasing a new generation of electric car with zero emissions. We are excited to participate in the development of the RapidE and to make a contribution to Sino-British clean energy and green environmental strategy.
