Google previously announced that it had appointed former Hyundai CEO John Krafcik as the leader of the autonomous car project. Now, Krafcik working on a business plan to bring autonomous technology to communities.
Co-founder of Google, Sergey Brin confirmed that it intends to partner with car manufacturers to bring autonomous car to market. In addition to manufacturers, Google is also open up opportunities for vehicle component suppliers.
"We really focus on working with a partner. I hope to bring it to a wider scale, more than partners, including top level, OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) ," said Brin.
Previously, Google's autonomous cars reportedly will be the first car without a pedals and does not require any human control. However, it looks like the early stages Google will launch an autonomous car that is still controlled by humans.
Google also has been testing autonomous cars. At least Google's autonomous car went through a distance of 1.2 million miles from its headquarters in Mountain View, California to Austin, Texas.
