Swedish car manufacturer Volvo shows how the performance cars that can drive itself in the future. Named IntelliSafe Auto Pilot technology that will be embedded in the XC90 SUV and debuted in 2017.
In the future shown in the video how Auto Pilot Self-driving interfaces technology make people easier driving cars while they very busy with their works.
Volvo claims that the IntelliSafe Auto Pilot technology is the most advanced self driving with an easy interface to use
Interface design is simple and intuitive, in which to enable and disable the autonomous driving mode simply by operating the small lever (paddle) on the steering wheel.
When the car sensor detects the entrance area where autonomous driving available, the system will give a message to the driver that "auto pilot" is ready. At the same time, the light on the paddle starts. If it had been really active, the system will notify via a message on the dashboard or sound and if the system detects that the area of autonomous driving is not longer available, the driver will be given a warning for 60 seconds to disable and take over steering control.
However for some reason if the driver does not respond and do not turn off the auto pilot interface the in a minute the car will automatically towards to a safe place and stop.
IntelliSafe Auto Pilot will be available at 100 Volvo XC 90 SUV and supply Drive Me project in Gothenburg, Sweden, 2017. After that, this technology will be introduced more widely to the public.
Now, a variety of activities such as reading newspapers, electronic mail, or just playing the game can be done while driving thanks to this technology.
