Although the 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine, Ford Focus RS will be capable of spitting out 350 horsepower and torque to 324 lb-ft. Whereas previously the Ford Focus RS promised would only capable of spitting out 315 horsepower.
Toughness lies in the selection of components inside the machine, such as the use of all-new low inertia twin-scroll turbocharger and larger compressor from Mustang. It can add up to 23.2 psi boost engine.
Furthermore it is said, intercooler which is now also greater. Likewise muffler exhaust system that has been altered, engine start-stop system will also be provided.
Aside from the output figures, Ford has also announced that the manual-only RS will feature a unique implementation of start/stop technology. If the driver accidentally stalls the engine, the system quickly fires it back up without requiring the clutch pedal to be depressed.
"We knew we wanted to put start-stop technology on the RS," said Ford Performance Europe engineering manager Tyrone Johnson. "So we said, 'What if we went one step further, and controlled for engine stall at launch using the same technology?' Well, that's exactly what we did and it's just as fast as our start-stop technology."
Lastly, reportedly Focus RS will be entering the production line this year. And will be marketed in 2016 in the United States.
